Our annual "Field Hockey for the Cure" game kicked off yesterday morning with the first official match of the Chile test series. It was a fantastic win 3-0 and we were looking sharp in our pink uniforms. Unfortunately, despite how great they look from afar they are a little hard to manage in terms of actually wearing them. Nonetheless, the team looked sharp and we raised some more funds towards breast cancer. Although no one shaved their head I still think we made quite the mark for our sport and for raising cancer awareness.
Two great goals by Thea yesterday and a converted penalty corner by Di gave us a solid 3-0 win. It's a great experience to gain a lead 2-0 in the first half, keep that momentum going, seal it with a third goal and not give up any in our end. It's a different perspective for our team and I am sure we all like it so, moving forward we look to continue the same results.
