As we prepare for one of the largest multi-sport games that I am probably ever going to attend, I realized that it is vital to have the proper technology with me at all times in order to ensure accurate recording of everything I see and do. Naturally, my technical instincts are screaming at me to get with the times and get a new camera. Naturally, having no money is tough but some times you need to bite the bullet. This one is for all the memories on this trip and for the next couple of years so, I'm gonna say it is worth it!
The new baby is : The Nikon Coolpix L110
I got this bad boy at future shop on sale and thank goodness they had the black in stock because I was not a fan of the red one. Any way, I can give my personal review of it after I play around a bit more with it. I took it to the beach to take some photos and have since, been playing around with it more and more. What I like about it is how it is an "in-between" camera. It's not small like the point-and-shoot cam's but it's not huge like the SLRs. It takes 12.1 MP photos, 720P HD movies, takes SD cards, AA batteries and has a fantastic screen on the back. For the price - the features are great! I am pretty thrilled to capture some awesome stuff when I head to India and then to Europe (Germany & Austria).
Before I forget ... I saw THIS on TV today...
How awesome is it to see this on TV and then be like - HEY... I'm going to be there! Okay, here are some snap shots with the new camera:
The photo of this wasp/bee is still baffling to me! I can't believe the zoom and resolution on this Macro mode :) Loving it!
I am off to Vancouver tomorrow. The infamous, dreaded beep test is upon me Tuesday night and then it's training, training, training!
We have the Commonwealth Games Send Off Dinner on September 17th featuring a chocolate buffet. I have to sell tickets to that so if anyone is interested Please email me!
Also, if any of you are into cycling and follow Simon Whitfield... I was reading his blog and he had a bit of a collision and totalled his bike! Check it out on SQWRACING JOURNAL - Simon's Blog
It's late and I have to finish packing! More updates from the Mainland to come.
Quick shout out and THANK YOU to my "donators" on my sponsor list! I am currently leading the races in individual sponsors. If you would like to help keep me in that spot please donate online in my name at THIS WEBSITE. In 4 sponsors I have raised $505.00 so far! It's fantastic!! Our program is going to be well on its way :)
