I like think that we can make a movie about this or go on intervention. Anyway, I rounded up the troops and picked up three other team mates at 1:15am today. We drove to her house, sat her down and convinced her (not easily) to re-run the test. She had one more day to do it. In a frantic, chaotic but adrenaline-pumping evening we organized to have the test run at 8:15am on the turf! We picked her up drove her there and set up the most amazing beep test ever with dual speakers so that one was playing the test and one was playing great tunes to run to.
We ran beside her, yelling, cheering and keeping her on track so that she, yes, eventually made it! Thank god! This is what team work is all about. Cheesy? Well, we feel like a million bucks and that's the beauty of team sports. Every decision you make will affect the 15 other girls around you and so if you're going to quit on us, we won't quit on you... You can't get away that easily. Anyway, a great example of how close this team is and how far we have come to not give up on anything or anyone! I am so pumped and after we cheered, hugged and yes, CRIED... we breathed a sigh of relief and can now rest easily. Also, we can celebrate tonight's festivities at our Commonwealth Games send-off party!
This is us after all the cheering and crying:
India.... Here we come!!
