2010 A dream come true

I am not a winter sport athlete but couldn't be more proud to be at the 2010 Olympics being held in Canada, in BC and so close... in Vancouver. To have the opportunity to be part of hosting the Olympics and then being so closely involved is amazing. Through my second cousin's husband I was hired by the Associated Press (SNTV) to help out in the media department. This has given me 100% full access to all the venues, most events and I have gotten to see and meet many of the athletes up close and personal. It's been an amazing adventure so far.

It's been about 6 days so far and I've been able to meet the Men's and Women's USA & Canada Snowboard-cross teams, figure skating (including Patrick Chan of Canada), USA women's & men's ice hockey teams and representatives and I've met some other athletes of other countries. I have access to events and hope to get out and see some ice hockey, figure skating, curling and speed skating! I was able to attend the Opening Ceremonies on Friday and that was spectacular. I could not be more proud and happy to be Canadian and be apart of hosting the 2010 Olympics. K.d. Lang was unbelievable singing Hallelujah and Sarah Maclaughlan blew me away! It was just an amazing event.
