Drowning in Vancouver

It turns out that even though we didn't get any rain during the March camp - we got our fair share tonight. I am off of running right now, just biking, but I went to support the team in the track work out. I felt so helpless that they were working their asses off in the freezing cold and pouring rain while I got to do my bike work out in the morning at the gym, under shelter. Regardless, I sweat more than I ever have before on a bike. Who knew you could work that hard on a bike!

I'm back in Vancouver for the week and all the way up until we fly out for San Diego. It's going to be a good week of training, probably in the cold, and then we have to get prepped to play some big games in Chula Vista.

My video projects that I was working on turned out well, I believe. I made one "recruitment video" for a grade 11 girl that I coached and I think it turned out well. With not too much game footage it was difficult but not bad for a first time crack at that. Alternatively, I was asked to do a promotional video for the Vikes FH program and Buzz enjoyed it so, I think that one was a real success. I would post it on YouTube but they are so fast at taking off the sound due to copyright issues that it just isn't the same without the good tunes.

Probably the biggest news of the day though, for me, is that I finally ordered my new computer. My macbook is currently sustaining some major bumps and bruises and is in need of a new top plate. That will probably cost me $150 to repair but hopefully I can get $700-800 for it. I did get a new 2.24GHz white Macbook with upgraded memory and ram to host all my video editing that I am getting into. Along with it comes a Canon all-in-one printer that has a scanner, fax, printer and who knows what else.

My new toys should arrive next week some time before I leave for San Diego!!! Very exciting. :) Along with my new 620GB portable HD, I think I'm ready to rock. :)

More to come!
