It's good to keep up training, that's for sure. More importantly, it's good to exercise after a huge meal, make that TWO huge meals. My dad's uncle has been diagnosed with lymphoma and he is doing well right now but some family has flown into town to visit so, timing was good and my dad came to Vancouver so we could all meet up. As always, big family get togethers involve LOTS of food and taking your sweet, sweet time to eat it. I had an early practice yesterday morning and went with the team to the UBC golf course for brunch. I had some amazing blueberry pancakes and then rushed home to shower and drive out to Richmond to meet the family.
My uncle Ken, from Calgary, was there as well as some usual family members. The lunch was very Shanghainese and I could only taste a few dishes. Dinner, on the other hand... WELL that was a whole different story. With 16 people packed around a round-table in the corner of this fancy restaurant on Broadway, we ate and ate and ate. We had so many dishes, most that I haven't seen before. The star of the show clearly being a KING CRAB that was displayed so beautifully I had to take a photo. Not to mention it was all split open so it was so easy to eat. As well, we had great dessert including Green-bean soup which isn't quite what it sounds. I think they melt lots of sugar cane in with these special beans and make a sweet soup. It was great to see all the family again including my cousin Lily who I only see a few times a year :)

PS. These photos were all taken with my new blackberry bold 9700 which I decided over the iPhone. Long story and I made a huge debate at the store that the sales rep was not happy about but anyway... got this new beauty.
