I am sitting at the BC Ferries terminal, Swartz Bay side, waiting for the ferries. I'm pretty sure this actually takes up a significant portion of my life. It's really consuming. I think someone should do a study on the amount of time "Islanders" spend at the BC Ferry terminal waiting to get home or get off this rock. Regardless, I'm excited because it's Friday and I'm heading up to Whistler to see the girls.
The National team girls have planned what they have called "The Wawesome Weekend in Whistler." It's more of the silly-ness (or crazy-ness) that has taken over from being together too many hours a week. I am heading into town to pick up my roomies, Katie and Zee, to head up to Whistler for some good team bonding. I've never been to Whistler so I am excited to check it out and see all the girls again. It has been awhile. We will be up there all weekend and because I can't participate in some of the more physical activities or risk injuring my shoulder again, I'm going to sit on the sidelines and practice some media work. I brought up my SLR camera and my awesome Nikon to do some filming and take some great photos of the girls. I want to put together a little "Behind the Scenes" with the National team girls video and throw it on YouTube next week.
Monday, I see the surgeon for my 2 month "check up" and hopefully I can get rid of this sling et pillow. It's definitely bit long enough that I am ready to get rid of it!! After that, its a week in Vancouver of meetings and practices because the team is in camp!
Thursday, I am heading to the Canucks vs St.Louis game because they are dedicating the night to CanFund and myself and team captain, Katie Baker, are going to go check it out and represent our team. I'm really excited to meet some of the organization leaders that have helped our team and me out so much!
