It's been a bit of a hectic trip so far since the tournament started. JD and I have been filming four games a day and at the field from 9am until after 6:00pm. Today was our rest day and I was able to venture downtown with Z, KC, Walkey, Dani and Kaitlyn. I have had little to no time to really update my blog and even check my e-mail. Filming, editing, coding and getting together game reports and highlight videos for the National team website have been my top priority!
I did manage to sneak a nap in today since I went to be really late last night. Some of the girls have a low key practice session in an hour or so and I am going to participate in that! The games are going really well with Canada up 3 points in their pool thanks to wins over Austria and Chile. We play Italy tomorrow which will help us clinch the top of our pool but it seems to be a double knock out with quarter finals, semi-finals all before the final match. So, there is still a long road ahead with a lot of filming.
We had a random monsoon/rain-wind storm yesterday during the Malaysia-Belarus game. We were up in the tower hanging on for dear life while filming and the tower was shaking, the wind was blowing and the rain was pouring down on us. Luckily myself and the Belgium filmer were prepared with garbage bags and everything was covered as it looked sort of grey out before the game. We were prepared and although the rain poured, I like to think we were pretty hardcore for continuing on where every other team stopped filming!
Anyway, it's back to coding and video stuff for me!
