Alive in Austria

We made it safe and sound to Austria yesterday afternoon. We had safe flights to Heathrow and great connections to Vienna. To top it off we had no problems with luggage, our ride to the hotel and our check in at the hotel. We are staying in a Courtyard Marriott hotel which is very, very nice. The only draw back is the lack of internet or the lack of cheap/free internet. Today the team is practicing over at the pitch which is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel.

I was given the day to search for solutions for the Internet and also buying random techy stuff like SIM cards for the coaches. There is a big shopping center about 5-10 minutes from our hotel so I am at a coffee shop using their free Internet and trying to catch up in the last 24hrs sans Internet. This is probably healthy for me ut makes it hard when my job here is to update everyone on how the team is doing!

I am about to embark on my first European adventure solo. I am heading downtown to find a store that sells Apple stuff and taking the metro by myself. The good thing is that even when I hae taken the metro before was usually the one navigating anyways. It's always comforting though, to have someone else with you.

I am overly surprised by the number of people here that have such amazing English. It is so helpful and yet, not helping me learn German.

Well, I better set out for my mission if getting techy supplies! More updates to come and I will be doing all the team updates in www.field4dreams.ca as well as in twitter under fieldhockeycan.
